Description
Petit Verdot IGT Lazio
Varietal origin: grape variety native to the Médoc area in France and spread in California and in some Greek and Italian regions, in particular in the Agro Romano and Agro Pontino where it generates wines far superior to the area of origin where it is followed by a slow abandonment of cultivation. Petit Verdot is a very demanding grape for ripening and gives excellent results in areas characterized by a warm, sunny, windy climate and with little rainfall during the vegetative phase
Harvest period: first ten days of September
Vinification system: in red
Malolactic fermentation: carried out
Aging: 3 months in steel
Bottles produced: 3000
Exclusive Viticultural Practices: protect the grapes from the sun avoiding defoliation. Limit nitrogen fertilizations and good water availability as excessive vigor leads to a lower polyphenolic and aromatic synthesis
Exclusive Oenological Practices: short-term maceration, about 5 days, and f.a. at low temperature (22 ° C). Short but frequent pumping over. After racking, numerous rackings in the air to fix the color and soften the tannic component
